Proverbs 12

Good Morning "Discipline Lovers."  Today we are in Proverbs 12.

"I love a good butt whooping"... said no one ever!  At least no one but Solomon.  “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Solomon understood that discipline meant correction, and came from a loving heart.  He pulls no punches for the one who hates correction.

“And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.””
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

"...God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Have you ever known someone who was a train wreck and yet at the same time were convinced they absolutely had it all figured out?  How can they think such a thing?  Arrogance?  Pride... perhaps both.
“The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Be wise.  Always be willing to listen to advice.  Remember God surrounds us with what and who we need.  It's up to us to accept it.

Love you all!  Dig in!
