Good Morning “Wisdom Seekers.” Today we are in Proverbs 8.
Meet “Lady Wisdom”. Some are quick to assume we are reading about Jesus here - because of Wisdoms description, and her role through creation, and involvement after. This is not the case. God the Son is revealed in the NT as the creator & sustainer. (John 1:1-4; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:1-4) Neither is “Lady Wisdom”, The Holy Spirit, whose ministry IS to reveal the Truth of God’s Word.
Lady Wisdom, is the personification of Gods own Wisdom. We know the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are ONE, existing always, with no creation point. Thus she is also, the personification of the Wisdom of Jesus, which is present always - and through creation. The Woman of Folly is later presented as the personification of the deception and folly of the world, the flesh, and the Devil!
Wisdom & Understanding complement each other, as we are taught God’s Word by The Spirit of God, apply it AND then actually live according to it!
“Now then, my children, listen to me; blessed are those who keep my ways. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not disregard it. Blessed are those who listen to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For those who find me find life and receive favor from the Lord. But those who fail to find me harm themselves; all who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:32-36 NIV
